There's only so much you can learn from books and blog posts. Having an experienced tutor beside you — watching your technique and answering questions in real time — makes all the difference. That's exactly what our mosaic workshops offer.
What happens in a workshop?
Our mosaic workshops are relaxed, sociable sessions held in a well-equipped studio with everything provided. You'll work on a guided project under the instruction of an experienced mosaic artist. Sessions typically run for two to three hours and are suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate crafters. By the end, you'll take home a completed piece and a set of skills that will improve everything you make afterwards.
What you'll learn
Workshop content typically covers: tile selection and colour theory, adhesive application, tile cutting (intermediate sessions), grouting for a professional finish, and design principles for planning your own projects. These are the skills that bridge the gap between "following a kit" and "designing your own work."
Who are workshops for?
Our workshops are genuinely for everyone. Complete beginners find them a brilliant confidence-builder. Intermediate crafters use them to tackle techniques they've been nervous to try alone. Groups of friends find them a brilliant alternative to typical social activities — creative, relaxing, and producing something beautiful to take home.
Booking
Workshop places are limited to ensure individual attention, so early booking is recommended. View our current schedule and book your place through our mosaic workshops page. Craftsy also offers online mosaic courses to supplement in-person learning.
